What Is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)?

The Magstim Horizon® Pro 3.0 with full neuronavigation is the TMS system we use at Balance Psychiatric & Wellness Clinic because it allows for highly individualized treatment.

While all FDA-cleared TMS systems are designed to effectively treat depression, not all systems locate the treatment target in the same way. Many TMS devices rely on standardized scalp measurements or a fitted cap to estimate the treatment location. In contrast, our system uses full neuronavigation, which maps each patient's unique head anatomy and guides coil placement with real-time precision.

This advanced technology helps ensure the magnetic stimulation is consistently delivered to the intended area of the brain throughout every treatment session. By improving the accuracy and reproducibility of coil positioning, neuronavigation allows treatment to be tailored to the individual rather than relying solely on generalized measurements.

At Balance Psychiatric & Wellness Clinic, we believe this level of precision supports the delivery of high-quality, personalized TMS care while helping maintain consistent treatment targeting from session to session.

How TMS Therapy Works

The Magstim Horizon Pro 3.0 uses the same fundamental technology (figure-of-eight coil, high-frequency rTMS, and iTBS capability) as the devices studied in the literature above. The best estimate for treatment-resistant depression is that roughly one-third to one-half of patients will respond (clinically meaningful improvement), and approximately one-fifth to one-third will achieve full remission, with real-world practice outcomes often exceeding RCT results.

Combining Technology With Compassionate Care

While advanced treatments and diagnostic tools can provide valuable information, successful mental health care still depends on personalized attention and meaningful provider-patient relationships. Our team combines innovative treatment options with compassionate care to ensure every patient feels supported throughout the process.

We take time to answer questions, discuss expectations, review treatment goals, and provide education about available options. This collaborative approach helps patients feel informed and empowered as they make decisions regarding their care.

Determining Whether These Services Are Right for You

Our focus is on finding solutions that align with your unique needs while supporting long-term emotional wellness and recovery.
